Isaac Brockshus is a versatile composer of commercial, pedagogical, and concert works. Greytudes, his work for prepared flute, has been the subject of a doctoral dissertation and is heard in flute festivals throughout the US.

Groups such as Boston Brass and Decoda have premiered Isaac’s work, leading to commissions by the USC School of Music, the University of Northern Iowa Wind Symphony, and Alarm Will Sound bassoonist Michael Harley. Isaac has been awarded the John and Lucrecia Herr Award for Composition, a Gold Addy for his commercial work, and is one of the nation’s youngest inductees to the SAI Composers Bureau.

Isaac earned his masters at the University of South Carolina, where he helped found the Cica new-music series and assisted in the acclaimed Southern Exposure series. During his time at the University of Northern Iowa, Isaac was the pianist for many student ensembles, including the Wind Symphony.
